Tournament Timetable

This year we have a number of Tournaments going on in the Games & Arts room- including two all-new all-day events! Be sure to check when each tournament is on, and to sign up on the day before the tournaments start so that you don’t miss out!

SoulCalibur VI

Time: 10:00am-11:15am

Setup:

  • PS4
  • Default Settings
  • 3/5 rounds per game
  • Best of 3 games; best of 5 for grand final
  • Single/Double Elimination (Participant dependant)

Rules:

  • Winner must keep character; loser may change
  • Random stage select
  • Inferno is banned

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled

Time: 11:15am-12:30pm

Setup:

  • PS4
  • Single Race
  • 3 Laps
  • No AI/CPU
  • 1v1 (winner advances)
  • Double Elimination Bracket

Rules:

  • RPS (Rock Paper Scissors) – winner chooses track. Start with easier tracks in early rounds then get progressively harder in later rounds.
    • Retro Stadium and Thunder Struck are banned due to the save corruption glitch.
  • Any character and car combination can be used. 
  • No ‘Glitch’ shortcuts. Full track must be completed. Example of allowed shortcuts include:
    • wall jump in Polar Pass
    • The upper bridge in Sewer Speedway
    • The overpass in Papu’s Pyramid

These are allowed because they are legal, intentional shortcuts.

Examples of ‘glitch’ shortcuts in the current patch include the skips in Out of Time, Spyro Circuit and Papu’s Pyramid.

Rocket League

Time: 12:30pm-1:45pm

Setup:

  • Xbox One
  • Single/Double Elimination bracket (participation dependant)
  • 1v1
  • Best of 3 games; best of 5 for grand final

Super Smash Brothers Ultimate

Time: 1:45pm-3:00pm

Setup:

  • Nintendo Switch
  • 3 Stock
  • 8 minutes
  • Hazards OFF
  • Miis can use any moveset
  • Best of 3 games; best of 5 from winner’s finals onwards (participation dependant)
  • Double Elimination Bracket

Rules:

Rock Paper Scissors – winner decides who strikes stages first.
First player strikes 2 stages
Second player strikes 4 stages
Winner picks out of the remaining 3 stages

2nd round onwards: winner strikes 2 stages, loser picks out of the remaining 7 stages. Winner must pick their character first.

All characters are legal

Goldeneye 007

Time: 3:00pm-4:15pm

Setup:

  • Nintendo 64
  • Single/Double Elimination Bracket (participation dependant)

Rules:

  • 5 minutes Normal Mode 1v1
    • Radar ON
    • Random Room
  • First kill sudden death in the event of a tie (death of any form results in a loss)

Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Time: 4:15pm-5:30pm

Setup:

  • Nintendo Switch
  • Single Race; 150CC
  • 3 Laps
  • Normal Items
  • No CPU
  • 1v1 (winner advances)
  • Double Elimination Bracket

Rules:

  • RPS (Rock Paper Scissors) – winner chooses track. Start with easier tracks in early rounds then get progressively harder in later rounds.
  • Any character can be used; then players must agree on a vehicle combination

Super Mario Odyssey:
Koopa Freerunning Time trials

Time: 9:00am-5:30pm (All-day event)

Setup:

  • Nintendo Switch (Postgame moons must be unlocked)
  • There will be 3 different challenges and leaderboards for the following Kingdoms: Cap, Metro and Moon.
  • Leaderboard rankings will be determined by which players reach the finish line in the fastest time. Winning the race is not necessary. Make sure you leave your time up on the screen so the Games Room Team Member can record your score. 
  • Event will be temporarily unavailable during the Smash Bros and Mario Kart tournaments (but may open up early depending on when setup becomes available)

Rules:

  • Limit of 2 attempts per person per Kingdom. 
  • Limit of 2 resets/deaths per attempt.

Persona 5 – Secret Boss Battle

Time: 9:00am-5:30pm (All-day event)

Setup:

  • PS3 (or PS4 if needed)
  • Normal difficulty, New Game+
  • All Party members level 75, most with maxed confidant rank. Goro Akechi is also available to use.
  • Full Compendium of Personas available to pick from (however bans apply, see below)
  • Leaderboard rankings will be determined by which player survives in the battle for the longest; by number of turns – the game will tell you after the fight. Make sure you leave the dialogue up on the screen so the Games Room Team Member can record your score.

Rules:

  • Limit of ¥1,500,000 (1.5 million yen) to summon/fuse Personas and/or purchase consumable items/services.
  • Limit of 3 in-game ‘periods’ (2 evenings and 1 day) to adjust party member’s moveset, make coffee/curry, etc. If you would like to use the extra time, you MUST return to Mementos on 11/15 during the day to battle the secret boss.
  • If you go to the airshop and would like to sell for some extra yen (to match the limit); you can ONLY sell the treasure. 
  • Persona Bans: Yoshitsune, Satanael and Mara are banned
  • Can go solo Joker, or have as many or as few teammates as you like (1, 2 or 3 teammates)
  • Make sure you don’t save in-between battles to reset the save file for the next competitor
  • Limit of 2 attempts per person
